Job Description – Social Media Assistant

Sophie Robinson is an inspirational interior designer, broadcaster and entrepreneur, who is, in her own words, ‘Bonkers about colour! For over twenty years, Sophie has been on a mission to ‘ban the beige’, working across TV, magazines and with some of the top retailers in the country to get her message across. However it’s on her social media channels where she has created a loyal and devoted community of fellow design enthusiasts. Sophie is passionate about sharing her expertise and has created online courses and workshops to help people to find their own design mojo. It’s a non-stop whirlwind, but she wouldn’t have it any other way!

 

Your role

As Social Media Assistant you will be a key member of our team, playing a crucial role in engaging, developing, and converting Sophie’s online followers – feeding their thirst for colour, with joyful, fun and creative content. Working in close collaboration with our marketing team, you will help develop, and then deliver a dynamic and creative strategy for our core social media channels which grows our online presence, engages our followers, and strengthens the Sophie Robinson brand.

 

What you’ll be accountable for:
  • Delivering regular, engaging content through our social media channels, blog, and newsletter
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of our overall marketing strategy
  • Growing and nurturing our followers
  • Supporting the promotion of our products and brand collaborations
  • Driving engagement and awareness of the brand

 

What you’ll be responsible for day to day:
  • Managing the social media calendar
  • Developing, adapting, and repurposing content to meet the needs of different channels and audiences
  • Writing blog posts and newsletters to meet specific briefs
  • Scheduling and publishing content
  • Managing all social channels including Facebook groups
  • Monitoring and replying to comments across all social channels
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting on our social media
  • Identifying trends to support and inform campaign planning
  • Optimising content to encourage community interaction and engagement

 

Experience/skills you’ll need to have:
  • Proven success in effective social media management across all platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, and Pinterest
  • Good working knowledge of digital social media management tools
  • Proficient in Canva and experienced in creating graphics for social media
  • Experience in posting blogs on WordPress
  • Confident using CRM and/or email marketing software
  • Actively engaged member of the online interiors community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for crafting engaging content
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

I love interior design and have a real passion for colour, pattern, textiles and the genuine joy and creativity of this industry.  There’s a real community vibe in the online interior design world and I love being part of such a supportive and encouraging group, who are so willing to share ideas.  I also enjoy being part of a team – and working with a team that’s focused on helping and supporting other like-minded people to create a home they love, would be a dream job.
I take great personal pride in my work, and believe in doing what I say I’ll do, when I say I’ll do it, and always to a high standard.  I’m a real stickler for detail, but I never let perfectionism slow me down or get in the way – I know deadlines are important. As someone who grew up with social media and get how it needs to work for business, I love creating engaging content, whether that’s writing an inspiring blog, or putting out a series of posts on Insta; and then watching how it performs. I’m a bit of a geek to be honest! I love the geekery around tech and data, and see the opportunities that Ai can bring to marketing. These are exciting times, and I’m here for it!
