There is a fantastic opportunity to join me, Sophie Robinson and my Great Interior Design Challenge (#GIDC) colleague Daniel Hopwood for a Masterclass in Interior Design.
The intention of the day is to impart our extensive knowledge to a design thirsty group in order to help you design and style your own home or project with confidence.
We’ve designed a full on yet creatively inspiring day- with groups no larger than 20 people, so we all have a chance to meet and mingle and share ideas. There’s a heap of drool-worthy pictures to look at and discuss (want to know what Dan designs for his super rich clients?) and plenty of take home tips and ideas that will empower you on your design journey. We like to think its a great day for everyone, no matter where you are in the process. Previous guests have included home owners, renovators, renters, developers, DIYers, design students, bloggers and design professionals.
My area of expertise is room scheming and my experience on high street magazines means I have a fountain of knowledge on how to shop for the look across a wide range of consumer retailers. As a stylist I’m an expert in creating unique looks and colour schemes for any room and I’m particularly interested in how we can make our homes a true reflection of our own individuality through use of colour, furnishings and collections.
Daniel’s skill is defining the design process. Rather than dictating what is good or bad taste he prefers to help you discover how to find your own sense of style in order to achieve an exclusive look. He also has a practical, pragmatic approach to design and an extensive technical knowledge, which he would like to share. He will highlight the necessity of good spatial planning and how to manage a budget. To help this process Daniel will offer access to his library of materials and finishes as well as guidance on how to put the designs on to paper.
