Queen of Colour

I'm Sophie Robinson, and I'm completely, unapologetically bonkers for colour. I own far too many cushions, live in a constantly-evolving renovation project in the Sussex countryside, and have spent the last 25 years eating, sleeping and breathing interior design — and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Beyond television, I've built a platform around a community of colour lovers and home enthusiasts. My award-winning blog has been named Vuelio's Influencer of the Year three years running. My podcast, The Great Indoors, which I co-host with interiors author Kate Watson-Smyth, has surpassed 3 million downloads. And through my online courses and live events, I've helped thousands of people to finally create the home they've always imagined.

Take a look inside my home
My Colour Manifesto
I believe your home should make you feel good. Truly good. Not just impressed for five minutes when you walk through the door, but comforted, inspired, energised and emotionally held by the spaces around you.
For me, a beautiful home has never been about perfection, trends or following somebody else’s rules. It is about creating a space that reflects who you are, how you want to live and what makes you feel most like yourself. Sometimes that looks bold, colourful and layered. Sometimes it looks calm, quiet and understated. There is no single formula for a beautiful home because there is no single way to live beautifully.
What matters is that it feels authentic to you.
After more than 25 years working in interiors, I know that creating a home can feel both exciting and completely overwhelming. There are endless decisions to make, endless inspiration online and endless pressure to “get it right”. So many people lose confidence before they have even begun, worrying whether colours work together, whether a room flows properly or whether their taste is somehow wrong.
That is why I care so deeply about sharing not just inspiration, but genuine know-how.
I want to help you cut through the noise, understand the principles behind good design and feel confident enough to trust your own instincts. Because when you understand how colour works, how layout affects the way a room feels and how to layer pattern, texture, lighting and art successfully, decorating becomes far less intimidating and far more joyful.
And the transformation goes far beyond the room itself.
A home that functions beautifully, flows well and feels emotionally connected to who you are has the power to change the way you live your life within it. It affects how you relax, entertain, work, connect, create and recharge. It becomes the backdrop to your memories, your relationships, your routines and your sense of wellbeing. That is why I believe creating a home you truly love is never superficial. It is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression we have.
My own style is joyful, layered and full of colour because that is what makes me feel alive, but I have never believed everyone should decorate like me. My role is not to hand you a formula or encourage you to copy my aesthetic. It is to help you discover your style, your palette and your version of home.
I also believe deeply in a “high-low, go-slow” approach to interiors. The most interesting homes are not created overnight or bought straight from a showroom. They evolve gradually over time, mixing investment pieces with affordable finds, treasured heirlooms with spontaneous purchases and old with new in a way that feels personal and real.
Most of all, I want you to feel confident enough to stop decorating for approval and start decorating for joy.
Because when your home reflects who you truly are, everything changes.
