I’ve had back to back photo shoots this month and am lucky enough to have the lovely @jadefarmiloemua do my face. Thought I’d share a few of our favourite makeup products to get that summer glow even if you don’t need to be camera ready.

#AD Maximalism is all about creating a little bit of magic by styling your home in unexpected ways. I’m very excited to see @Habitatuk turn 60 this year and am in love with so many pieces from the new collection. So, I’ve given my home a refresh with some striking new pieces from their iconic 60th Anniversary collection. Here’s how…

MATCH COLOUR
When you have an eclectic mix of patterns, styles and objects, sticking to a core colour palette will ensure it looks coherent. These Radica vases by contemporary ceramicist Silvia Kamodyova look stunning against my vintage floral wallpaper because even though the motifs are very different the colours tie it all together.

MIX OLD AND NEW
Part of the charm of maximalism is the idea your home accumulates more and more beautiful things over time! While I love traditional shaped furniture for its timeless appeal, a fresh new pattern gives an instant uplift like this Levi embroidered cushion by celebrated British textile designer Margo Selby. And you can never have too many cushions!

CLASH PATTERNS
Part of the joy of a Maximalist home is in collecting different patterns and enjoying them together. Never be afraid to make a bold statement and this iconic Klee ceramic table lamp makes an arresting focal point on my hall table, set against the busy floral patterns for contrast.

BLEND STYLES
Always avoid the overly matchy-matchy and instead embrace different styles from different eras to create a more original look. This Scottie oak dining chair in this sensational electric blue adds an unexpected twist to an otherwise traditional
room scheme, but again notice how the colour links to the wallpaper design, so it looks totally at home.

As you would expect the collection brings Roisin’s love of happy colours, bold pattern and maximalist joy across cushions, curtains, tabletop, wallpaper and wall art. The colour palette of pink and orange feels so right for now and plays on her mission to create optimism and joy wherever she goes!

It was also lovely to catch up with some other familiar faces @bygoneben @matt.smithwood @francesklondon @anthonyraydesign and hear of their onward design journeys after the show. GRWM on a typical photo shoot day. I rely on my trusted friend and makeup artist @jadefarmiloemua to make my face presentable for the camera. She’s amazing and I really appreciate what she does, and how long it takes. For me it’s about defining the eyes, giving the skin a healthy glow and not looking over done!

She’s been my makeup artist for eight years! I was a lip gloss, mascara and go type of person before but the older I get the more I appreciate great makeup. Lots of you ask what she uses so here is a list.

The wonders of wallpaper! Whenever I want to elevate a room, make it feel truly special, I wrap it in wallpaper. Working on my collection with @harlequinfw only cemented my love affair with this creative craft that is steeped in heritage. It’s hard to pick a favourite but I love this ‘In the woods’ mural which transports me to my favourite place, surrounded by the feel good colours of nature. P

You can create a whole scheme around a single pattern or mural and, the pattern does all the heavy lifting, setting the theme and colour palette for the rest of the room.
