AD Yes, you can have colour in your kitchen! And it doesn’t have to be all be about the cabinets and decoration. You can inject a dose of joyful colour in accessories and cookware. I’m in love with the wide range of colour options on offer at @lecreusetuk and the recently launched new colourway Rhône, which is this deep sumptuous red that suits my scheme perfectly. Red is undoubtably having a moment and is set to be a big colour trend in kitchen design this year. But why stick with just one colour when you can have two! I’ve paired it with Nectar yellow, to complete my colourful country kitchen scheme.

I have fond memories of my Mums dark green Le Creuset collection that matched her Aga and was her pride and joy, and now I’m thrilled to have my own heirloom pieces. My advice is to pick the colour you love because Le Creuset is designed to last a lifetime, and great taste never dates.

AD Red is having a moment in interiors so here’s how to make it work in your kitchen colour scheme. Inspired by the new Rhône colourway by @lecreusetuk let’s take a look at some potential colour combinations and the different affects they create.

KEEP IT TONAL For subtle sophistication opt for Rhône’s tonal partner, pale pink. This soft Shell Pink compliments the deep Rhône red impeccably and feels a very on trend way to use red right now.

ADD ENERGY AND HARMONY To ramp things up a bit Rhône looks so good next to its neighbour Nectar yellow. They are both warm and robust colours and set a joyful and optimistic mood.

GO FOR STRIKING CONTRAST It’s true that opposites attract and the cool blue Chambray makes the deep Rhône red look even more rich and dramatic.

I’ll be decoding my playful approach to pattern and colour and giving you valuable insights into how you can tap into your own love of colour, find your pattern personality and design a home bursting with joy and creativity.

Spring! My favourite season! Taking a moment to f

Spring! My favourite season!
Taking a moment to feel grateful for the joy and optimism it brings. I feel my energy rising, as I throw myself into new design projects with gusto! Cupboards get sorted, dust gets dusted, paperwork gets filed and yesterday the socks came off! The longer days brings positive mornings and I’m literally skipping into my day to the tune of birdsong.

Take a moment to love the sunlight this time of year and the amazing halo you get around the edges of the clouds or the streaks of piercing light through the trees. And let’s not forget the colours! Fresh Spring greens and vibrant daffodil yellows will shake you out of a fug. I love the gentle joyousness of the spring palette and so celebrate with jar of daffs on the kitchen table. We planted 1000 bulbs in the winter so am delighted with the sprinkling of colour.

AD My home comes to life when I fill it with friends and gathering people around the dining table is my favourite way to entertain. Colour is the best way to set the mood and for this spring table setting, I’m loving this soft yet joyful colour palette made up with the newest @lecreusetuk colourway Chambray, paired against the pretty Shell Pink. Pale, light and bright colours are perfect for creating an uplifting and convivial mood, and you can add Spring flower tones of primrose yellow, hyacinth and mint green to complement this pastel colour story.

I’m obsessed with rugs so yes, of course I found a place for them in my kitchen!

This beauty is from @thatrebelhouse who source the most beautiful vintage ones, always loud and proud with colour. This one fitted my kitchen palette perfectly and I love how it pulls together all the colours in my scheme. Quite often kitchen floors are neutral so adding a splash of colourful pattern is a must for any colour lover.

A kilim rug is perfect as it’s lightweight so easy to pick up and shake outside or whizz over with the vac. I’ve had this one almost a year and it still looks perfect.

A vintage rug is ideal in a new kitchen as it softens that box fresh look and brings a vintage charm to a country style kitchen.

What a week! Trying one of these diary in a carousel ideas as this week was especially busy!

1. So proud to see @staceysolomon use our Meander fabric from @harlequinfw on her hit BBC TV show @sortyourlifeout . It made the perfect statement head board
2. Had a massive spring clean in the house. Starting with the fridge. Untold mid life joys!
3. The rain stopped long enough for Tom to get up onto the roof and take a look at our leaking chimney stack.
4. Fabulous evening spent with @lisa_sandersondesigngroup supporting @qestcraft charity fundraiser supporting British craft at @vamuseum
5. The @sanderson1860 table including @clairevallis @andrew.tannerdesign @henryhollandstudio . I picked up this dress from @elfennmarrakech shop. @christophesauvat
6. Daily cold plunges in the garden enjoying the bird song and the Soring sunshine.
7. I joined @michelleogundehin on @interiordesignmasters at @chesterzoo in my @cosstores jumpsuit on Tuesday.
8. Just love this show and any excuse to be in the presence of @chattyman. Dress by @alemais.official
9. Spring Equinox spent on Brighton beach with a wood fired sauna @beachboxbtn was amazing, and grounding. Love this time of year! New beginnings 🌱
10. Attended @habitatuk 60th birthday celebration in central London with Habitat Creative Director @andrew.tannerdesign and @sebastianconran . This felt hugely significant as I studied design with Andrew over 25 years ago at Brighton university. Habitat has always stood for championing great a d emerging British design talent and offering it at an accessible price. It’s great to see them back!

12. Freak hale storm yesterday. British weather… nothing like it!
