Introducing my Autumn/Winter Collection with Dunelm

I’m beyond thrilled to share my brand new Autumn/Winter homewares collection with Dunelm and it’s another Maximalist masterpiece! While the summer collection focused on plenty of bright, joyful colours, this season I wanted to dial up the warmth, the richness, and the sense of cosiness that autumn naturally invites. Think deep forest greens and burgundy reds, layered over my signature vibrant cobalt blue, pink and yellows that launched the collection earlier this year. Don’t think of it as throwing out your summer palette… it’s building on it. Call it a seasonal update rather than a total overhaul and the result is a collection that feels abundant, layered, and perfectly in tune with this time of year.

A maximalist tablescape with brightly coloured and patterned tableware including floral tablecloth, coloured placemats, candlesticks and flowers

Whimsical Jacobean table cloth, from £45. Dinner plate, £8. Napkin with wave edge (pack of 4), £12. Striped napkin ring (pack of 2), £6. All Sophie Robinson x Dunelm.

Introducing tableware

One of the most exciting new additions is the limited edition tableware range and I can’t tell you how much joy this brings me! It was a real career high to design my first ceramics collection, and I really unleashed my colour loving creativity with this one. I’m literally obsessed with collecting ceramics and have quite an eclectic collection and it was this passion I drew on to create the designs. The result was a collection that includes plates, bowls, jugs, cake stands and platters, all designed with playful wiggles, striking harlequin motifs and painterly florals. They come in four colour ways, so you can either stick to a tonal look, like all blues,  for classic sophistication or go bold by mixing and matching for a more eclectic, maximalist vibe. I’ll be honest, these won’t hang around for long, so if you’ve got your eye on them, I’d recommend snapping them up while you can. They’re destined to become the heart of many joyful supper parties this season.

A dining area with patterned maximalist dining chairs, patterned curtains on the window behind, a blue chandelier and a brightly coloured celebratory tablescape

Amarinth Wiggle Dot Dining Chairs, £169. Napkin with wave edge (pack of 4), £12. Harlequin pattern cake stand, £22. Snug as a bug mug, £7. 8 light adjustable Chandelier, £279. All Sophie Robinson x Dunelm.

Textiles to treasure

Of course, no collection of mine would be complete without a generous serving of textiles. This time, I’ve gone all out on layering opportunities with new placemats, napkin rings, cushions and rugs. I’m especially smitten with the “Snug as a Bug” cushion as my continuing love affair with beetles makes another appearance! You’ll also find stripes, frills, and intricate embroidery that make these pieces as tactile as they are beautiful. These details give the collection a sense of craftsmanship and personality because for me it’s about creating pieces you’ll love to live with and cherish. I also think Autumn begs you to indulge in more tactile and luxurious fabrics so you can play with putting velvet next to wook and the flourish of a silk fringe trim brings it to life. We also introduce two new rugs to the collection this season, and I’m particularly loving the supersoft geometric berber for for that feeling of cosiness.

Bedroom Bliss

Over in the bedroom, I’ve introduced two new bedding sets that are perfect for layering up and clashing in true maximalist fashion. Florals, plains and geometrics combine to create beds that don’t just look inviting, they feel like little canvases of creativity. I encourage you to pile them on, embrace the contrasts, and discover how joyful a patterned bedscape can be. I think as we move into Autumn it’s a perfect time to update your bed and layer it in rich colour and layers of feel good fabrics, so while the bedlinen is a super soft 200 percale, you can layer it with the new velvet geo bedspread and some more sumptuous cushions from the collection. The Snug as Bug cushion is a real favourite of mine as it captures the mood perfectly.

A Feast for the Eyes

Altogether, this new collection feels like a feast for the senses; abundant colour, rich textures, playful details and above all, pieces that make your home sing with personality. I couldn’t be prouder of how it’s come together, and I can’t wait to see how you style it in your own spaces.

Tips for getting the autumn look

  1. Layer like a maximalist: Don’t stop at one cushion or one fabulous print. Combine stripes with florals, plains with patterns, to create depth and interest.
  2. Mix your tableware: Blend colourways and motifs for a look that feels collected over time rather than matchy-matchy. It’s a great way to express individuality.
  3. Anchor with warmth: Introduce richer colours like burgundy and forest green as your autumn anchors, then add layers of feel-good textures like velvet and wool and add details like frills and fringing.
  4. Layer your lighting: As the nights draw in, it’s time to add warm pools of light in dark corners. Lamps, walls sconces and candles all add a magical luminescence.

Not going to lie, this might be one of my proudest Not going to lie, this might be one of my proudest makeovers ever…
My Dad and Mary’s modern French villa was all beige tiles, white walls and zero personality. So I did what I do best: turned it into a technicolour dreamscape inspired by the countryside views outside those gorgeous bifold doors.

Inspired by early autumn leaves, emerald green fields, and piercing blue skies we set about making the inside of their home feel as joyful as the outside … now imagine all that bottled up into wallpaper, fabrics, cushions and colour-drenched furniture.

If you’ve ever thought bold colour overwhelming or that pattern was too much for open-plan spaces… this one’s for you. Because colour and pattern sings in nature, and it can work just as well in your home decor.

All wallpapers, rug and cushion fabrics are from my collection with @harlequinfw. Painting by @sophieabbottartist

Research shows that colour, light, beauty and nature in our homes have a direct impact on mood, wellbeing and happiness. Small, intentional changes really can shift how you feel day to day.

Dark and moody colours can feel intimidating, but Dark and moody colours can feel intimidating, but my TV snug shows just how well they can work. The deep tones soften the space and create a calm, cocooning atmosphere, perfect for evenings spent watching TV, or retreating from the day.

Contrary to what you might think, this room really comes into its own in winter. Low light and long evenings make the colour feel enveloping and cosy. It’s a space that invites you to slow down, sink in, and make yourself comfortable.

I sampled so many different paints but Cordoba by Little Greene was the perfect choice for this room. It’s full of depth and warmth, and just the right amount of drama.

And if you’re thinking about taking the leap yourself, my tip is: don’t fight the natural light you have, lean into it. Don’t be shy about colour drenching walls, woodwork and ceiling so the room feels seamless and intentional. In my snug, that richness is what makes it feel cosy and complete.

There’s no place I’d rather be on chilly evenings.
How do I explain this feeling to a minimalist? To How do I explain this feeling to a minimalist?

To some people this might look like too much, but for me, maximalism isn’t excessive, it’s pure self expression. I decorate my home to reflect the way I live and that’s full of bold uplifting, joy-giving colour. Every patterned textile, every artwork, every joyful little object earns its place because it makes me feel happy.

And if I’m being honest a neutral room doesn’t make me feel calm, it makes me feel slightly depressed. My home lifts my mood, fires my creativity and gives me a little thrill every single day.

Now tell me… are you Team Minimal or Team Maximal? And what makes your heart sing at home?
There’s something about walking that has quietly h There’s something about walking that has quietly held me together this past year.

When life threw its challenges my way, my anxiety went into overdrive. I lost clarity, my head was foggy, and the overwhelm shut me down. But walking, one step in front of the other, slowly moved me in the right direction.

We all know walking is good for the body, but it’s also one of the most powerful tools for the mind. Moving helps process stuck emotions, those steady steps soothe racing thoughts, and the changing scenery opens up fresh ways of thinking. Being in nature grounds you. And the best part is, it’s free.

Whenever I’m preparing a new vision for my year or any creative project, I always start with a long solo walk. I take my journal, let the thoughts tumble out, and begin to find a clarity and direction again. Next step is to use my creativity to create a powerful vision board full of images that resonate with how I want to feel and who I want to be. Less of a to do list, more of an emotional reset. This works for me as it brings in the light, and more importantly keeps me inspired and motivated.

If you’re ready to gently clear the fog and get clear on what you want more of, my ‘Life in Colour Vision Board Masterclass’ is now on sale. I’m hosting on the 21st January, 7pm GMT (with a recorded replay available). Comment VB26 below and I’ll send you all the details.

Can’t wait to see what we can create together this year!
